The rose flowers used in the process are carefully selected for quality. ‘Rosa damascena’ is used to extract this attar. It was originated in the Indian subcontinent. Thousands of rose petals are collected in jute bags every day in the city. It is estimated that more than 50kgs of these petals are needed for producing about 10ml of attar. The process used is Hydro-distillation, similar to many other attars.
